Based in Fort William we have been running our winter skills courses for several years. The Scottish winter skills courses normally take place around Ben Nevis and Glen Coe altough we occasionally head to the Cairngorms.

Your instructor (Rob Johnson) will give you an enjoyable introduction to the skills and knowledge required to walk safely in the mountains of Scotland in winter conditions.

These same skills are the foundations that you need in place to head to the Alps and the greater ranges to climb peaks such as Mont Blanc, Island Peak, Mera Peak or the trekking peaks in Peru.

Use of Crampons
Choice of clothing & emergency equipment
Winter Navigation
Avalanche awareness
Emergency procedures & ropework
Snow shelters

We run 2 and 5 day open courses or bespoke packages.
